11/2/2006 - "Desert Storm" is a new ep by manipulator alligator. it's being released on BSBTA records as part of their subscription cd-r series. I am 1/4 of the October cd. Desert Storm is 6 new songs that i'm really excited about. i am excited for people to hear them. Also, the split 8" record with Miniature & Presidential is being cut as we speak...and the new Tract Records compilation "what are the museums doing" has a manipulator alligator song called "In the margins". There is a new cassette comp on Lost Sound Tapes that has a new MA song called "picking weeds". Also, there's a new cassette compilation about telephones on Delirious Riot tapes that has a new MA song called "I'm a hateful monster". i will tell you about other new stuff as it happens. sign up for e-mail updates if you want. love, matthew

7/27/2006 i'm 25 years old today. warm at home his morning is getting close. Also, secret plans for a split 8" record that will be too limit to say. I'll be covering a song by my friend and he'll be covering a song of mine. i'm excited. i recorded the song for it today, and it sounds nice. accordians and hand clapping and guitars and a lot of singing. i'll let you know about it when i know mores. i'm going to go eat some cake. happy july. love, matthew

7/20/2006 summer classes are almost over. i'm working a lot on other stuff. there are a few new things bouncing around. not playing guitar much. playing with samples of ghost recordings (evps) and police scanners. i will write new songs in a week or two. otherwise, there are two shows coming up. in Manhattan KS on August 10 and St. Louis on August 11. have a nice morning.

7/8/2006. please come to a free all ages show on Tuesday, July 11th at Toto's coffee in Mission, KS. I'm playing with 3 friends (margo may, aid, and andy nichols). starts at 7:00pm sharp. Also, there is a new song here. it's not really finished, has no determined future, etc. the sleeves are being screened for the next album as we speak. i may have some for sale at the next show. otherwise, i hope that everyone is doing well. love, matthew

6/9/2006 there will be a new cassette next month called Warm at Home This Morning. it will be for sale at sanitary records and in some other places. it is a mix of homespun acoustic songs and computer mishmash samples and such . here's a song from it. i've been on vacation in the north. i hope to tour in august before going back to school. love, matthew

"I ate nothing for lunch" appearing on a forthcoming compilation on Not Not Fun records. 3. "blasphemous rumors" (depeche mode cover) - forthcoming Depeche Mode tribute on Asaurus 4. "Ringway to Seatac" (wedding present cover) - forthcoming Wedding Present tribute on BSBTA records. 5. "true blue" by madonna appearing on "Color: a compilation of songs" on Sanitary Records. 6. "Salina, Kansas" appearing on a forthcoming 50 song compilation called Country Singers on four mississippi. 7. "so" appearing on a Kansas City compilation this summer. 8. "there's a light" appearing on a forthcoming compilation on Ambulatore in Spain. 9. "in the margins" appearing on a forthcoming compilation on Tract Records called "what are the museums doing?" also, i have a few copies left of "these are bees". I made 200 cd-rs to sell at shows and am down to the last 15. they'll be in the store at sanitary records or for sale at shows in the coming months. you can still purchase the tape from kaw tapes. also, May 23, I'm playing at the dusty bookshelf in manhattan with TaughtMe and hopefully Margo May.

this is a collection of computer music and story songs about my family and my friends. it is 9 songs that blend into eachother on bright red/pink tapes, housed in a homemade screenprinted sleeve. here's a photo.

Manipulator Alligator is a kansas resident. i play music by myself and sometimes with friends. I also run a small record label called Sanitary Records where I put out music by my friends and myself with handmadepackaging. I used to play in a band called Row 6. i also have a lovely wife and daughter and I attend law school at the University of Kansas.
